Help Support Our Mission
As of December 6, 2016, MDRA is approved by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. IRS 501(c)(3)-Approval for Mary's Dogs Rescue & Adoption. This means that donors can deduct any and all contributions they make to Mary's Dogs under IRC Section 170. Mary's Dogs is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. The IRS has determined that MDRA is classified as a public charity.
The process starts with our rescue partners in the south pulling dogs from shelters - and even straight off the street. These dogs are given immediate medical care, including spay/neuter and vaccinations, and then professionally transported to our facility in Northwood, New Hampshire where they are placed in 48-hour quarantine. During this time, they receive additional physical examinations and testing for parasites by a licensed veterinarian, as well as a micro-chip implant. Once our dogs are declared healthy and receive their NH Health Certificate, they can be sent to their forever homes to enjoy the love and care so few homeless dogs will ever have the chance to experience.
The adoption fee we charge just barely covers these costs. In order to increase our capacity to rescue more dogs, cover unexpected medical costs and work toward the expansion of spay/neuter programs in the south, we depend on the generous donations of our supporters. Donations by check can be sent to: Mary's Dogs Rescue - PO Box 241 - Northwood, NH 03261
